With Klasse Klima, we explore collectivity in the context of the climate crisis. How can we develop an interdisciplinary, climate-responsive aesthetic that thinks about public space?

During the three-week open studio "this is not a test", Klasse Klima entered into an exchange with passers-by and interested members of the public in performative formats. The central island of Ernst-Reuter-Platz with the Bauhaus Reuse became the starting point to imagine, test and implement a more accessible and low-barrier work on the entire square reflecting on (climate) justice. Other collectives from activism and art were invited to share their methodologies with us. New questions and sensitivies emerged from those encounters. 

Out of the confrontations of the place, the people and practices emerged the works for the final exhibition that took place the 12th & 13th of August 2023 on the center island of Ernst-Reuter-Platz. Barrier removal measures include a tactile tour, DGS interpretation, childcare, and accessibility info in advance.
